Product Overview

Potassium Polyacrylate (abbreviation: K-PAM), also known as potassium polyacrylamide salt, is a high-molecular water-soluble anionic polymer. It is polymerized and hydrolyzed with acrylamide and potassium hydroxide as raw materials. This product appears as white or light yellow free-flowing powder, featuring excellent water solubility, high viscosity, good temperature resistance and salt resistance. With active potassium ions inside the molecular chain, it can effectively inhibit the hydration and dispersion of clay minerals. K-PAM is widely used as drilling fluid additive, flocculant and thickener in petroleum drilling, geological exploration, mineral processing, wastewater treatment and agricultural soil improvement industries.

Application Fields

Petroleum & Geological Drilling

Used as shale inhibitor, filtrate reducer and viscosifier for water-based drilling fluid. It effectively prevents well collapse, reduces mud loss, improves mud rheological property, and is suitable for easy-to-collapse formations and water-sensitive mud shale formations.
Mineral Processing Industry
Used as flocculant and settling agent to accelerate the sedimentation of fine ore particles, improve ore clarification efficiency, and reduce tailings water turbidity.

Wastewater Treatment

Applicable for industrial and domestic sewage purification. It flocculates suspended solids and colloidal impurities in water to achieve rapid solid-liquid separation.

Agricultural & Horticulture

Serve as super absorbent polymer for soil water retention, improve soil aggregate structure, reduce water evaporation, and improve drought resistance of crops.

Usage Method

Slowly add K-PAM powder into clean water under continuous stirring, with stirring speed controlled at 300-500 r/min. Completely dissolve within 15-30 minutes to prepare uniform aqueous solution. The recommended dosage is 0.1%-0.3% for drilling fluid, and the specific dosage shall be adjusted according to construction conditions and formation characteristics.

  • Conditions de stockage: À conserver dans un entrepôt sec, frais et aéré, à l'abri de l'humidité, de la pluie et de la lumière directe du soleil.
  • Durée de conservation: 24 mois dans son emballage d'origine et dans des conditions de stockage normales.
  • Remarque concernant les transports: Ce produit fait partie des produits chimiques généraux, non dangereux ; éviter toute contrainte excessive et tout mélange avec des substances corrosives pendant le transport.
