Carboxymethyl Cellulose (CMC)

In a water-based drilling fluid system, the drilling fluid needs to have good rheological properties, fluid loss control capabilities and well wall protection capabilities to ensure that the drilling process is carried out safely and efficiently. Carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC), as a classic cellulose polymer treatment agent, is still widely used in global oil and gas drilling projects due to its excellent viscosity increasing, filter loss reduction and wall protection properties.

Carboxymethyl Cellulose (CMC) for Drilling Fluids

Product introduction

Carboxymethylcellulose produced by Jinxiang Chemical is available in two specifications: low viscosity type (CMC-LV) and high viscosity type (CMC-HV). CMC-LV is mainly used to reduce API fluid loss and has little impact on the viscosity of drilling fluid; CMC-HV has both fluid loss reduction and viscosity increasing effects, which can significantly improve the rheological properties and debris carrying capacity of drilling fluids.

The product has good water solubility, salt resistance and compatibility, and can be used in conjunction with various drilling fluid treatment agents such as PAC, PHPA, modified starch, and polymer fluid loss additives. It is suitable for freshwater, seawater and some saltwater drilling fluid systems, and is widely used in oil, natural gas, shale gas and geothermal well drilling.

FAQ

What is the difference between CMC-LV and CMC-HV?

CMC-LV is mainly used to control fluid loss and has little impact on the viscosity of drilling fluids; CMC-HV has stronger viscosity-increasing capabilities while also taking into account fluid loss reduction, and is suitable for drilling fluid systems that need to improve rheological properties.

What drilling fluid systems is CMC suitable for?

Mainly suitable for water-based drilling fluid systems, it can be used in fresh water, seawater and some salt water drilling fluids, and is suitable for various working conditions such as conventional wells, horizontal wells and directional wells.

What products can CMC be used with?

It can be used in conjunction with sulfonated asphalt powder, hydrolyzed polyacrylamide PHPA, xanthan gum, polymer fluid loss additives and other products to jointly optimize drilling fluid performance.

Does it support customization of different specifications?

support. Different viscosity grades and packaging forms can be provided according to customer needs, and OEM services are provided.
